Once again it is my privilege to be the President of DogsNT. I will do my utmost to do the right thing in the position.
It was a close call at the AGM. At the starting time we were 6 short of a quorum but before the half hour cut off time we had managed to make the numbers. For those that attended, thank you for your patience.
There was only one nomination for a position on Council and that was my nomination for President. We still required nominations for Secretary and 3 Councillors. We had to do the unprecedented and call for nominations from the floor. Eventually we had enough nominations to fill these positions.
We needed someone to take the position of Treasurer but unfortunately no one was forthcoming. We are desperately in need of a Treasurer so if there is any member who is able to take on this position, you are more than welcome, keeping in mind that we must have a Treasurer to be able to function properly.
I must confess that prior to the AGM I was disappointed that no one nominated for any of the vacant positions and I must thank those that put their names forward to take up these positions. If they hadn’t it would have been byebye DogsNT.
On a lighter note, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek shows have come and gone and I believe that most of those that attended had a great time. Congratulations to Erica and Bob for organising these shows.
